Welcome to Interior Stories, where imagination meets innovation in the world of interior design and renovation. Founded by Stephanie Ehrlich, an Australian Interior Architect, the Studio is nestled in the centre of Milan, Italy, at Piazza Santo Stefano, 5.
With over 15 years of experience across prestigious international firms, Stephanie brings a unique blend of creativity, professionalism, and cultural understanding to every project.
At the heart of her design ideology is a deep respect for nature. This strong desire to be inspired by the natural environment began in the UNESCO listed Blue Mountains Australia where she was born and raised. Since then she has worked on small to large scale projects in Sydney, London, China, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Canada and finally Milan where she now calls home with her family.
‘Interior Stories originates from the idea that all intriguing and memorable spaces are inspired by the people and land on which they are located. This is often referred to as the Genius Locus, or the ‘Spirit of a Place.’ By researching this, we inform our choice of colours, textures, materials and lighting consequently setting the mood and tone for each project. As in nature these elements come together in harmony to create refreshing, welcoming and invigorating spaces. Timeless and cherished for years to come.

Italy is famous for its highly crafted artisians and its long list of Made in Italy products, finishes and fittings. Our goal at Interior Stories is to stay current on latest trends and technology in the world of Interior Design. Our study into these areas, takes us on a journey through the rituals of bathing, eating, working and family dynamics to understand best how design can create the best possible experience.
Whether its an off the shelf, vintage or custom built item, each carefully selected piece comes together to form the unique identity of any Holiday Home, Fixer Upper or Pemanent Residency project.
On an environmental level, we seek to integrate eco-friendly practices and technologies. Working closely with project technicians we support renewable materials, energy-efficient systems and products that contribuite to a more sustainable future.

We help bridge the gap between the client and the local community of professionals, trades and suppliers.
Our technical drawings are uniquely noted in both Italian and English for full transparency to the entire project team. This ensures all parties understand the design intent to ensure smooth flowing design and build phases.

With an infinite choice of items, each with their own set of technical features, pricing and jargon, we synthetise the information, focusing on the important details, allowing the client to choose and order with confidence.
