Interior Stories is an interior design and renovation studio in Milan, founded by Australian interior architect Stephanie Ehrlich.
Stephanie Ehrlich
Stephanie grew up in the Blue Mountains, a UNESCO-listed area of Australia, and her respect for nature still shapes every project. She has more than fifteen years of experience at international firms, with work in Sydney, London, China, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Canada and Milan, where she lives with her family.
How we work
A space that reflects its place
A space should reflect its people and its surroundings. Colour, texture, materials and light are chosen to suit each location, following the idea of the genius loci.
Natural materials, Italian craft
We favour natural materials and Italian-made products, finishes and fittings, blending artisanal detail with Australian simplicity.
Navigating Italy for you
We help clients through Italian bureaucracy, usually alongside a local architect or geometra, and coordinate engineers, builders, tilers, plumbers and electricians so you can focus on the creative decisions.
English and Italian
We work fluently in both languages. Technical drawings are annotated in English and Italian so that everyone on the project is aligned.
Every budget, every home
We work with modest budgets, existing architectural features and reused or second-hand furniture, and help you decide where to invest and what to leave for a later phase.
Responsible by choice
Wherever possible we favour renewable materials, energy-efficient systems and sustainable products.
