Apartment Four
A family home, designed to grow
A family apartment in Porta Romana, Milan, reworked around everyday life with young children. Calm white surfaces, warm oak and soft textiles create a home that is easy to live in and ready to grow with the family.
The kitchen is organised around a generous island: one surface for cooking, homework and breakfast together. Tall handleless units in warm grey hide appliances and storage, while a slim linear pendant keeps the space open and bright.
Natural materials set the tone in the living area. Deep green marble meets sculptural black chairs in a striking contrast, while oak adds warmth. A bespoke artwork, inspired by the mountains of the owner’s home region, brings a piece of their landscape into the city.
The children’s rooms are calm and quietly playful. White walls and built-in wardrobes keep the background serene, while pops of colour, from a deep blue rug to cheerful prints and striped linen, bring personality. A climbing triangle and furniture scaled to little hands let each room grow with the children.
