Interior Stories Studio
A 35 m² studio of hidden joinery
Originally a gem cutter’s workshop from the 1960s, this 35 m² apartment, 300 m from the Duomo of Milan, was demolished and remodelled into a multi-functional design studio. Due to the compact nature of the project, every wall and surface was carefully designed to achieve maximum function and refined elegance.

Two solid partitions once dividing the space into three small rooms were replaced by a single set of glazed sliding doors. The result is an open-plan, light-filled space that allows for a separate waiting room to meet and greet clients and suppliers.
On the opposite wall, large steel sheets embedded into the crisp white boiserie become project presentation boards, as drawings are magnetically fixed in front. The boiserie continues across the doors of the bathroom and kitchen niche, making them entirely invisible when not in use.

To the right, a custom full-length oak and soft grey library displays reference materials: books, catalogues and product samples. The centrepiece is a sliding acoustic panel that works both as a pin board and as a decorative screen concealing the presentation monitor behind.
